Prepare to be taken on a spellbinding journey visiting one of the greatest musical stories ever told.
This show is a chronological history of hits from a career culminating in over 100 million record sales fronted by our international performers featuring Cherie Jade as Diana in The Supremes and the multi award winning Tameka Jackson as Miss Diana Ross.
Founded in 1959, in Detroit Michigan, this young, girl group went on to be known as The Supremes, the most commercially successful of Motown’s acts and the most successful American vocal band, with 12 number one singles on the Billboard Hot 100.
Our first Act focuses on the rise of The Supremes under the expert management of Berry Gordy. This determined young, girl group, formerly known as The Primettes frequented the Hitsville USA recording studio with the aim of securing the contract with Gordy who suggested a range of new names for the band, with Florence Ballard choosing to re-brand them as The Supremes.
Berry Gordy was a phenomenal force in the Motown industry founding both the Motown and Tamla record labels. Not only was he a producer but also one of the most prolific songwriters of this genre, from ‘Shop Around’ by The Miracles, ‘Do You Love Me’, The Contours to ‘I Want You Back’ and ‘ABC’ for the Jackson 5. He launched the carefully crafted career paths of iconic Motown stars including Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, The Four Tops, Gladys Knight and The Pips, Stevie Wonder and of course The Supremes.
Prepare for the second Act as the astounding Miss Tameka Jackson takes the stage to thrill you with the solo career of Diana Ross. Get ready to dance and sing along to all the hits that define a powerful legacy in the music industry. Beautiful duets, high energy pop anthems and even a chance to meet ‘Diana’ make this the show that sells out theatres the length and breadth of the UK.
