My two daughters took me to Stevenage last weekend for this show as a 60th birthday present... it was WONDERFUL . It's such a fabulous show with a very talented cast. I can't wait to watch it... again ! My only disappointment was that the audience weren't dancing in their seats. I had to negotiate various coats and handbags on the floor to get to the aisle to dance . 😊 I was hugely impressed. The whole audience was on their feet singing along to an absolutely fantastic array of early Diana Ross and the supremes classics during the... first half of the show. The second half was just as incredible. Hit after Hit. The singers were amazing, their interpretation of Diana's Classics was off the scale. Each one of the singers got to show off their individual voices the audience were so receptive and the roar of appreciation after each song was phenomenal. We can't wait to see this show again. It was a night to remember and I'd gladly recommend it to everyone who loves Diana Ross and Soul and Motown. You will not be disappointed.read more

My wife and I went to see the tour at Huddersfield Town Hall. We were bought the tickets as a gift from a neighbour who had also seen it. We were amazed by the show and we really enjoyed all of it!... The musicians and singers on stage were second to none! They did Diana real justice! Amazing music and superb vocals! In the name of love – The Diana Ross Story 7th May 2022 – Review written for Eastbourne Theatre Reviews Facebook page I love everything about the Royal Hippodrome Theatre, from the moment you walk... through the door there is always a warm welcome and tonight was no exception when we went to see the tour of In the Name of Love – the Diana Ross Story. Growing up in the 60’s in my house the radio was always blurting out the catchy and now nostalgic tunes that were created by Motown and so when you go to see this sort of show there is a high expectation that the tribute act not only sounds but also looks like the star that they are portraying. In the first act we were treated to the songs of the Supremes, who were previously called the Primettes. The woman playing Diana Ross in the first act managed to create that 60’s sound and the high pitched voice of Miss Ross that would only become more rounded and defined with maturity. Some great songs were sang including “You can’t Hurry love” “Baby Love” “Stop in the name of love” and the ‘Happening” – we were informed of the story how Diana became the lead singer, her love affair with Barry Gordy and how Florence Ballard left the group. The first act took us to 1970 when Diana and the Supremes performed together for the last time and sang “someday we will be together” In the second Act an older Diana was on stage, all dressed in the sparkly show girl gowns that Diana is famous for. I had to take a second look because this artist not only had perfected the voice but looked like the diva we all know and love. We were treated to so many of Diana’s hits as a solo artist in particular a lot written by Nile Rogers. It wasn’t long before the audience were on their feet and dancing all through the second act. A perfect evening with talented backing singers, a brilliant band and lighting and sounds effects that the Hippodrome do so well. 5 stars from me.read more

this is a really decent show wit a brilliant selection of songs. My only criticism is that the best member of the band, (I'm sure her name is Becky), never had the chance to lead, but the power of... her voice is sensational, whereas the person who was Diana Ross in the second half really struggled to hit some of the notes, something which is particularly noticeable when one has no useable vision and is entirely dependent on sound. Anyhow, I will be seeing the show again at the Ipswich Corn Exchange and, by that time, surely, Becky will be leading? Please make this happen, or risk losing a very special talent. Whoever reads this, please pass on to Becky, as she deserves to know that she is a stand out performer, and I'll be leading the applause in Ipswich when Becky comes to the stage!read more

the first half of the show is a history lesson about the supremes and the lady who played The Young diana ross had all the movements and mannerisms to perfection it really was like stepping back in... time,then the second half of the show was like a diana ross concert and believe me folks she really does look and sound like diana, tameka jackson you are absolutely amazing I felt I was at a diana ross concert i really liked how they paid tribute to all the motown artists and other great singers who we have sadly lost,I loved the show so much I've booked to see the show again in Nottingham with my daughters please go see the show you'll have a great night I promise you ❤️read more

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐They say time flies when you are enjoying yourself well attending the In The Name of Love The Diana Ross Story it seemed we were there only 20 minutes boy did it fly. 🎶🎶 Hit after hit after hit.... 🎶🎶🎫Taken back to a time of greatness with the Supremes and the evergreen Diana Ross the mood in the Sage was of a party mood with people dancing in the aisles, people up dancing next to their seat and those that were less energetic just tapped their feet and clapped their hands but even these were on their feet to give a well deserved ovation. We were taken back to a time of greatness but on reflection the greatness was in front of us on the Sage Stage. ReviewLast night I had the privilege of attending the theatre show ‘In The Name of love’ the Diana Ross Story, Staring both Tameka Jackson and Cherie Jade as Diana Ross, which play at Dudley Town... Hall in Dudley. Both theses ladies performed outstandingly along with the ladies who played the parts of the supremes, back by an insanely talented band. No good show rarely goes without its share of technicalities and last nights show was no exception. In spite of the little glitches, the production continued seamlessly and professional, a stella performance that did not disappoint its audience. This show saw audience members filled with excitement as they sang and dance the night away to hits like ‘You are everything ’ ‘Where did our love Go’ , Chain reaction and ‘My Endless Love’. and this show did not disappoint them. Well done to everyone who took part in this fabulous stage show production, I had a fabulous time and I enjoyed every minute. At the end of the night the audiences standing ovation proceeded with cheers for more that echoed around the room in appreciation and a true testament of a successful night!! 🙏🏾❤️ xxread more
